President William Ruto has today told the Orange Democratic Movement Party Leader Hon Raila Odinga to allow him to control the Nyanza region ahead of the 2027 general election now that it is evident that voters have moved on from the hotly contested election.
Addressing residents during the Homecoming ceremony of Eliud Owalo, the head of state for instance asked Raila to at least trust him with the region adding that his Government won't attempt to discriminate against the region even though he wasn't given many votes. Also, Ruto went on to ask the crowd whether they were comfortable with him staying in the region.

"Rais William Ruto awahakikishia wenyeji wa eneo la Nyanza kuwa serikali yake itawafanyia kazi bila kuwabagua licha ya kuwa walimpigia kura chache mno katika uchaguzi Mkuu uliopita," NTV reported hours after the head of state launched several projects in the region.
