Kisii deputy governor and an ardent supporter of the deputy president William Ruto has made it clear he will dump UDA party for ODM. He is clear he will contest for the seat of governor in Kisii through the ODM party and not UDA.
This confirms UDA has lost it's point man in Kisii County and it's clearly a heavy blow to DP Ruto who has been depending on Maangi to win the support ahead of the 2022 general election. It's clear It's also a big win to Odinga for Maangi will bring a lot of expertise into ODM given his wide experience.
Maangi is clear he will soon dump UDA party for ODM as he is bothered of his interest in the party that he was part of those who formed. He is clear ODM is the dominant party in Kisii party as opposed to UDA a reason he was switching camps to respond to the wishes of the people.
Maangi is concerned UDA doesn't represent his interest for it's clear he wants to win the seat of governor with the dominant party. This clearly is a huge surprise to DP Ruto who has been dealt a major blow in matters Kisii politics as Maangi was one of his major lieutenants.
