According to the 2010 Constitution, If a vacancy occurs in the office of County Governor (such as the case in Meru) the Deputy County Governor shall assume office as the new County Governor for the remainder of the term of the impeached County Governor.

This morning, according to the available reliable reports that we have with us from Meru County, attention has been drawn to the Deputy Governor who might be taking over if The Senate upholds the MCAs decision.

Mr. Isaac Mutuma M’Ethingia, went to the Maua Primary School having been brought up in a humble background.

After high school, he is said to have joined the Kenya Prisons Service in 2002 and went on to serve for 19 years.

He left the Kenya Prisons Service as a Senior Sergeant and Social Welfare Officer in the prisons department as per the reports that we have.

Mr. Isaac Mutuma M’Ethingia, is a Methodist Church Minister as well as a former prisons officer, who is also the son of former Njuri Ncheke chairman Paul M'Ethingia (late).
