Details Emerge As To Why DP Ruto’s Chief Of Staff Was Chased Away From Devolution Conference

New details have emerged why Deputy President William Ruto representative was sent away during the 7th devolution conference held at the Makueni Boys High School.

On Friday, thenRuto's communications secretary David Mugonyi said the DP Ruto’s speech was to be read by a representative on Friday, the final day of the event that started on Wednesday.

The DP was expected to tour areas of Nyandarua County instead, as he continues to push his agenda ahead of next year’s polls.

President Uhuru Kenyatta similarly did not physically attend the launch of the conference on Wednesday as he was in South Africa for a State visit.

The Head of State, however, officially opened the conference via a video link from South Africa.

While responding to why the DPWilliam Ruto’s representative was sent away on Friday, November 26, 2021, Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya said DP Ruto’s move to send his chief of cadre was not a smart move and in fact it was disrespect hence sending the chief of staff away from the meeting.

Oparanya further noted that there was no genuine reason given by the office of the deputy president as the devolution meeting was planned earlier than his campaigns.
