A senior official in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has heaped praises on Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua saying she was ripe to be occupy Deputy President's position.

Benson Musungu, ODM Director of Youth Affairs and People With Disabilities (PWDs), said Karua can be a 'formidable' DP, a remark signaling the Raila Odinga-led party was warming up to the former Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister.

A few weeks ago political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi said Raila has higher chances of succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta if he picks Karua as his running mate.

In another tweet on Thursday, Ngunyi, who correctly predicted UhuRuto's victory in 2013 through his 'tyranny of numbers' hypothesis, said Raila will win 2022 contest and retire in 2027.

However, the Narc-Kenya boss, who vied for presidency in the 2013 polls has said she has no ambition of going for a higher seat noting her interest for now was on Kirinyaga Governorship.

Karua, who was recently named as the spokesperson of Mt Kenya caucus, has also ruled out becoming Deputy President William Ruto's running mate saying the second in command was the least qualified to be President among all aspirants.

"I have said this time and time again, my only political interests are to run for the gubernatorial seat of Kirinyaga County. I have no interest in being Ruto's running mate," she said recently.
