"Forget 2027 Polls if Four IEBC Commissioners Are Ejected" Makau Mutua Angrily Tells Ruto's UDA

Azimio La Umoja Makau Mutua, a Kenyan spokesperson, has warned President William Ruto's UDA party to disregard any upcoming elections.

Makau stated that if the UDA succeeds in removing the four commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, no elections will be held.

Makau stated that if the IEBC commissioners are successfully replaced, the UDA should disregard not only the 2027 elections but also any upcoming by-elections.

"The UDA must understand that if the IEBC Four are dismissed and replaced through a kangaroo process, the 2027 elections and any by-elections will not take place. Period, "He wrote on Twitter.

The four IEBC commissioners under parliamentary investigation are embroiled in a political feud between the president's Kenya Kwanza and the Azimio wing.

Justus Abonyo, Francis Wanderi, Irene Cherop, and Juliana Cherera (vice chairperson) are the four defendants charged with attempting to thwart the will of the people.

They rejected the results of the August 9 presidential election, in which Ruto narrowly defeated Azimio CEO Raila Odinga.

Petitioners have petitioned Parliament for the establishment of a tribunal to remove them from office.
