Kirinyaga County Governor and Chairperson of Council of Governors Ann Waiguru has revealed how 46 Governors across the country worked hard to save Kawira Mwangaza.
While addressing faithfuls at Nanyuki Stadium during Interdenominational Church Service attended by President William Ruto, Waiguru revealed that they worked behind the scenes to ensure that Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza did not loss her seat after being inpeached by MCAs.
According to here, her, fellow women Governors and all governors made uncountable calls to Meru Senator and Deputy Senate Speaker Kathuri Murungi seeking his intervention in the matter.
Through their intervention, Kawira Mwangaza was saved from impeachment after the 11 special Senate Commiittee threw out the impeachment due to lack of evidence.
While tabling its evidence to the Senate, Kakamega County Senator and the chairman of the Special committe Bonny Khalwale said that none of the five allegations raised against Governor Mwangaza by Meru County Assembly Members could be substantiated or proved by her accusers.
The MCAs had accused the governor of nepotism, illegal appointments, unlawful dismissals and usurpation of the constitutional and statutory functions of county organs.
