Meru county had earlier made headlines after the Member of county Assembly members allegedly raised a motion to impeach governor kawira out of office due to misconduct. It was however a relief to her after the Senate dismissed those allegations and said she was Innocent. One of the men who led the task force to remove her has come out to deeply regret his actions.
According to reports Dennis Kiogora who sponsored the failed impeachment noted that he regretted that the assembly's bid to oust the governor was rejected by senators. He was tasked with answering tough questions from senators which made him drink water continually.

Dennis is an MCA in Meru county. Kawira is set to regain her office back. Meru residents have complained of underdevelopment since the tussle which took around four months.
