Shortly after handing control to William Ruto on September 13th, former president Uhuru Kenyatta reportedly left the country.
The previous president, whose 10-year tenure had ended when Ruto took office, took a break to consider his options once Ruto was inaugurated.
On Saturday, October 1st, one of his associates informed Nation Africa that Uhuru needed the trip to relax and clear his thoughts following the aftermath of the election on August 9th.

It has been claimed that the former head of state went home to the country after a pleasant trip overseas, and that he attracted little attention from the media on any of his travels.
On the other hand, he did not attend the Safari Park Hotel thanksgiving event for Raila Amollo Odinga's One Kenya Alliance candidate, Azimio la Umoja, located on the Thika highway.
