Nominated Jubilee Member of Parliament Sabina Chege has been dealt a major blow after the former President Uhuru Kenyatta okayed the move by the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance camp to kick her out as the Minority Deputy Whip in the National Assembly.
The Azimio camp had resolved to kick her out after the Jubilee party lawmakers announced plan to ditch the coalition, further announcing their support for the majority side which is the Kenya Kwanza wing.
Sabina had sought protection by the Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula who was yet to give his ruling, saying that she was not given an opportunity to defend herself over the claims made against her.
The decision to kick her out was arrived at during the Jubilee party National Delegates Conference (NDC) that took place on Monday, May 22nd at Ngong Racecourse, and graced by Uhuru who is the party leader.
She was replaced with Jubilee MP representing Embakasi West Constituency Mark Mwenje who has been in support of the Jubilee faction led by Jeremiah Kioni, and the Azimio camp at large.
At the Senate, Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo was also ousted as the Minority Whip, with her position being taken by Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina who was deputized by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
