Azimio la Umoja Deputy Presidential aspirant Martha Karua was forced into hiding after a man hawking sugarcane on the roadside threatened her.
"Rudisha kichwa ndani ama ukule miwa!" a seemingly angry voice of a man shouted at Karua who was in sunroof
Karua was seen quickly getting out of the sunroof to safety.
Martha Karua led by other Azimio la Umoja leaders are in Meru to popularize the Raila-Karua ticket.
The Azimio brigade have made several stopovers drumming support ahead of August polls.
In Meru Town,Karua assured locals that their interests are well kept in the Raila-Karua Presidency.
In a direct message to residents of Meru, Karua pledged to ensure that projects relating to the region are prioritized in the Azimio coalition.
“Kazi yangu ni kuja kupanda, kunyanyi za maji, kupalilia…nitakuja kila siku mpaka siku ya mwisho, walio wengi tukuwe upande wa Azimio ambayo kinara wake ni Raila Odinga akisaidiwa na Martha Karua,” she said.
