It has emerged that several county government passed the wrong BBI. It has become a major setback to the process as it is unclear what should be done next. The Senate and National Assembly joint committee on BBI has not yet come up with a clear plan to take the bill forward.
The National Assembly Majority Leader Dr. Amos Kimunya had made a request for Speaker Justin Muturi to call the members of parliament for a special sitting so as to discuss the way forward. He cancelled his request after realizing that the committee had not agreed on anything.
After his request went public, Kenyans expressed their disappointment on him for calling a special sitting because of BBI and yet there are more pressing matters which affects the common citizens. One Tony Gitonga thought that he should be concerned with vaccination budget, drought mitigation, escalating fiscal crisis and livelihood support interventions. He blamed the poor electoral choices Kenyans make by electing such leaders.
