The Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga has been told that he will soon discover that the deputy president Dr William Ruto is not his enemy. In a tweet on Friday, renowned Kenyatta University academic Professor Edward Kisiangani appeared to suggest that the former prime minister would be bettered. The academic held the view that it would be too late for the ODM leader to realise that he was being played.
Professor Kisiangani said he came to that conclusion after examining political developments in the country. He contended that Raila Odinga would come to the realization that he is being played probably after the referendum.
"Looking at the Kenyan political terrain today, am persuaded Raila Odinga will soon realize DP Ruto has never been the enemy. Regrettably, Raila will come to terms with this reality when it is already too late I suppose Raila will discover this after the Referendum!" The renowned Kenyatta University academic wrote on his Twitter feed on Friday.

Professor Kisiangani is not the first to suggest that the Orange Democratic Movement party leader and former prime minister Raila Odinga will be betrayed by his handshake partner the Kenyan head of state President Uhuru Kenyatta. In a funeral ceremony days ago in Kisii county, the Mugirango South member of parliament Sylvannus Osoro told Mr Odinga that he would be dumped by Uhuru Kenyatta after the referendum.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga shook hands in 2018 after weeks of political tensions following a disputed presidential election. The two leaders committed to uniting the country away from the divisions of the past.
