Yatta Parliamentary candidate under the Wiper party Robert Ngui Basil has assured the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga, and the camp at large that the Ukambani Region is solidly in the team.
Speaking on Monday during his campaigns in Yatta, Basil said that the three Ukambani counties; Machakos, Kitui and Makueni has listened to their son and the region's kingpin Kalonzo Musyoka, and will do exactly what he says.
According to him, the stars have already aligned for Raila Odinga's presidential bid, and they will turn up in large numbers in the August polls to ensure that they support Raila and his running mate Martha Karua.
"The Wiper party which is the region's party is in Azimio and since we want to fight corruption, this ticket is the best for this country. The Kambas have decided since they want to be in the next government, and Kalonzo had shown us the way, we are supporting him 100 per cent."
He went on to request the Ukambani region who were not supporting Raila to re-think their decision, arguing that Kalonzo made the right decision for the country, and the Chief Cabinet Secretary slot offered to Kalonzo was best for the region..
