Today a section of leaders from Ukambani region paid a courtesy call to UDA party national chairman Johnstone Muthama at his Gigiri office, Nairobi.
Leaders present in the meeting included; former Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana, formers UDA gubernatorial candidates Prof. Emmanuel Mutisya ( Makueni), Jonathan Mueke ( Kitui), former Kitui Senator David Musila, educationist Prof. Raphael Munavu and Moses Banda.
The leaders used the opportunity to thank president William Ruto through the UDA party chair for nominating three people from the region to his cabinet.
" They expressed their appreciation to president William Ruto for the appointment of cabinet secretaries from South Eastern region to his Government" posted UDA party chair Muthama on his official Facebook page.
The team also committed to rally the community in supporting president Ruto agenda to the people of Kenya.
" They committed to rally the community to support the president in the implementation of his agenda to the people of Kenya" added Muthama.
The three cabinet nominees from Ukambani region includes; former Machakos governor Alfred Mutua who was nominated to foreign affairs docket, former Kitui deputy governor Penninah Malonza to Tourism docket and outgoing Energy cabinet secretary Monica Juma who was retained as national security advisor.
