"Tumefanya ile Kitu, " Happy Nyeri MP Laments After Thousands Turned up to Receive Baba

Outspoken Nyeri town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu was Tuesday evening a happy man after his residents flocked Nyeri town in thousands to receive Azimio la Umoja campaign convoy.

The coalition's presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua led a pack of their allies to make a grand entry to the county earlier in the day and drum up support for the State House ambitions.

Normal activities were completely paralysed in the ever-busy town as Kenyans from different parts of the county and beyond turned up in large numbers to receive and listen to the guests. All the spaces in the streets of the town were packed to capacity as the audience chanted praise songs and pledged support to the self-proclaimed baba and his team.

Taking to his official Facebook post, the area lawmaker who appeared too excited and surprised by the massive numbers shared photos of the events and captioned them " It's a wrap, tumefanya ile kitu tena," which basically expresses being amazed.

Mr Wambugu who is defending his seat on a Jubilee party ticket has been a staunch supporter of Raila's presidential bid and a strong critic of his main rival and Deputy President William Ruto.

The two top presidential candidates are focusing on the larger Mt Kenya region due to a large number of votes and are now locked in a fierce contest to control the region's voting pattern. This has made Nyeri county which is the heart of the region a substantial target and the two teams have in recent days been making a series of exchange visits to the county.
