Crowd in Meru Responds as Ruto Attacks Raila over His Agendas

A bruising political battle is unfolding in the country as 4 candidates fight for the presidential seat. Deputy president William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga are considered the top contestants to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta.

DP Ruto has poked holes on Odinga's agendas alleging that he has his own interest and not what Kenyans need.

Ruto was in the company of his running mate Rigathi Gachagua, Justin Muturi, Mithika Linturi, Kathuri Murungi, Moses Kirima, Halima Mucheke, Kithure Kindiki, Ndindi Nyoro, among other leaders.

Speaking in Meru, Ruto told off Raila that many Kenyans were literate and it was no longer a challenge to the country. He further promised to create jobs by establishing industries. The prompted the crowd to reveal that they were not fools.

" Tunasema mwaka huu tunaweka milioni mia moja kuweka viwanda ili vijana wapate kazi. Yule jamaa wa maneno mingi nilisikia akisema kule Bungoma kuwa shida kubwa Kenya ni ujinga. Kenya wajinga waliisha pengine kama wako ni yeye. Vijana wamesoma wako na degree, diploma. Huu ni mwaka wa kuambiana ukweli." Ruto said.

This loosely translate to, " We will set aside 100 million for industries to create jobs for the youths. I heard Raila saying while in Bungoma that ignorance was the biggest problem in the country. I want to tell him that youths are learned and they have degrees and diploma. This year we must speak the truth."
