Kiplagat's family said he passed on at the Karen hospital in Nairobi where he was rushed for treatment.He belonged to the Tugen ethnic community.He was born to the late Isaac Salgong and the late Zipporah Salgong, who is a material cousin to the second president of Kenya ,Daniel Arap Moi ,in the year 1945.His first job was as a prison warden but he resigned to venture into business. Hosea was a politician who was among the key figures of former president Moi era. He has died at the age of 76 years. Kiplagat also served as the executive chairman of cooperative bank .For those who know him well says he got interests in various sectors of the economy such as in banking industry as well as transport. Him being a politician,vied and lost the Baringo parliamentary seat before he took a low profile in politics. May you rest in enternal peace.
