Sabina Chege Breaks Silence Immediately After Chebukati Declares Presidential Winner

Kenya is currently experiencing a mixed reaction to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission's announcement of the newly elected presidential candidate (IEBC). This follows the Tuesday, August 9 election conducted by the independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

Wafula Chebukati, the chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), will today, Monday, August 15, announce the official presidential election results. Chebukati declared William Samoei Ruto, the outgoing vice president who was running on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party ticket, to be the legitimately chosen presidential candidate. Former prime minister and Azimio contender Raila Amollo Odinga placed second . Professor George Luchiri Wajackoya, leader of the Roots party, and Wahiga Mwaure, leader of the Agano party, placed second and third, respectively.
