"Kalembe was the real hustler, wachana na watu wengine wanajibandika", Mr Odinga said while addressing mourners during the burial of former Kibwezi lawmaker Kalembe Ndile. The ex-MP was laid to rest at Mbui Nzau in Makueni County on Friday.
The former PM's remarks were seen as directed towards the DP and his allies who have concentrated their 2022 campaigns around the tug 'hustlers'. The Deputy President's political friends often refer to him as the 'chief hustler',a tug that seems to Infuriate the ODM party leader.
Although the former has not made official his 2022 presidential bid,the second in command remains his main and perhaps serious challenger for the top seat.
Raila, together with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, were some of the high profile attendees of the burial of the former legislator. Earlier on, Raila Odinga's chopper had disrupted prayers at the burial service but calmness was quickly restored.
