Murang'a women representative Sabina Chege who doubles up as Azimio la Umoja council member has taken the initiative to calm down Azimio supporters following increased interest in the presidential election results after unofficial sources continue sharing contested results.
Sabina maintained that the independent electoral and boundaries commission has the final say regarding any elections results alongside established media houses of great repute.
"Watu wangu! I want to call for calm and patience as we continue await official results from the IEBC. During this time be wary of false narratives and misinformation. If it’s not credible media kindly await for official results from the IEBC. Let’s remain calm." Sabina Chege said.
Sabina Chege's reaction comes just hours after IEBC urged Kenyans to weary of false reporting regarding the tallying exercise that is currently at advanced stages. According to IEBC, they are the only credible source pertaining ongoing electoral process.
Even with the warning from IEBC and political leaders, alot of unverified election results are being peddled on social media, raising anxiety levels among Kenyans.
