Nelson Havi, former President of the Law Society of Kenya, has been nominated for the position of Solicitor General (SG).
Havi was one of eight candidates named to the Public Service Commission's shortlist (PSC).
The job interviews will take place on December 13 and 14.
The PSC is looking to replace Ken Ogeto, the country's Secretary-General since 2018, when he was appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Havi vied for the Westlands parliamentary seat on a United Democratic Alliance ticket, but was defeated by Orange Democratic Movement incumbent Timothy Wanyonyi.
The solicitor general is appointed for a five-year term with the option of re-election.
According to the Office of the Attorney General (AG) Act, the Solicitor General will assist the (AG) in carrying out his duties.
The applicant must be a Kenyan citizen and hold a law degree from a recognized university, according to the requirements.
