The former vice president has conceded defeat after his candidate came third and last position behind United Democratic Alliance party's Candidate and Independent candidate Timothy Maneno.

Kalonzo has congratulated the Independent candidate who emerged victorious and has thanked the residents of the ward for coming out to elect a leader of their choice.

"We take this early opportunity to congratulate Timothy Maneno on winning the Nguu/Masumba ward seat on an independent ticket, We also thank the other candidates including our Wiper candidate Eshio Mwaiwa and UDA's Daniel Masai for putting up a brave fight to capture the seat" read part of his statement.

"The people of Nguu-Musumba have spoken through the ballot, we honour their decision" he added.

The OKA principal further condemned the violence that was witnessed in sections of the ward terming them unnecessary and against Wiper's ideals.
