This follows the confirmation of reports that Igembe North Member of Parliament Hon Maoka Maore an ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta has reportedly dismissed claims that the Mt Kenya East region has already Endorsed Raila's 2022 Presidential Bid.Speaking Minutes after attending another crucial meeting convened by Meru Political leaders such Kithure Kindiki (Tangatanga), Governor Muthomi Njuki (Undecided), Mithika Linturi (Tangatanga), Hon Maoka Maore has now reported that he fully supports Governor Kiraitu's decision to quit the Ruling Jubilee Party so as to form his new political party after arguing that the region must be united.
According to the standard, Maoka said they supported the Handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila and the dividends it had given the nation.
On Governor Kiraitu Murungi-led efforts to unveil the Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP) to advance Mount Kenya East’s political and development interests ahead of next year’s elections, Maore said he supports any initiative that will foster development and unity of the region ahead of the polls.
Meanwhile, ODM Party Leader Hon Raila Odinga is expected to visit the region in the coming weeks where sources privy to the developing story indicates that he will be receiving blessings from the Nchuri Ncheke Council of elders.
