Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa have bitterly exchange on Twitter following Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s behaviour on Friday. Mutahi Ngunyi claims that Rigathi tried to outshine President Ruto when he visited Kisumu. While attending Music Festivals in Kisumu on Friday, Mr Gachagua carried himself as a great man as was displayed by his style and the addresses he made to the people of Kisumu.

Rigathi was accompanied by a number of leaders from their Kenya Kwanza coalition indicating that just like the President, he has a huge following. Professor Ngunyi has however recorded his displeasure in the way Gachagua behaved on Friday. Ngunyi claims that Gachagua tried to outshine his political master President Ruto. According to Ngunyi, a behaviour like that may cause problems in the presidency like was witnessed between Ruto and Uhuru.

“Mr Rigathi Gachagua tried to outshine his master, President William Ruto, during the swearing in ceremony and tried to do that again during the music festivals. Flying to Kisumu in military plane to Kisumu is something that may not make Ruto happy. The presidency is a jealous institution,” Ngunyi has said.

However, Kikuyu MP has told Ngunyi to stick to Azimio politics and stop peddling rumours. Kimani Ichungwa says that Mutahi Ngunyi has never done something substantive apart from speaking too much English. He says that Ngunyi misled President Kenyatta with hypothesis that never worked.

“By now Mutahi Ngunyi should know that his political hypothesis usually equals to nothing. All he does is speaking lots of English which amounts to nothing. You should know that Ruto is not petty as President Uhuru Kenyatta who you misled,” Kimani Ichungwa has said.
