Senator Ali Roba of Mandera and Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale had a disagreement over the recently held Garissa Township by-elections.
Duale's comments against his party hurt Roba, who also serves as the leader of the UDM party.
Without mentioning anyone by name, Duale declared UDM to be a party affiliated with Kraal while celebrating his candidate, who he said had won before the results were officially announced.
A kraal is an African term for a traditional settlement of huts that is usually surrounded by a fence.
"All signs point to UDA candidate Rtd Major Mohamed BARROW Dekow winning tonight. The residents of Garissa Township have once more rejected polarizing politics and neighborhood kraal-affiliated parties "said he.
Roba took offense to his remarks and retaliated by declaring that the UDM party had demonstrated its stability by challenging the UDA party.
The senior guy responded, "Someone said local parties came from the kraals, yet the same party has been the reason very senior guys stayed holed up in Garissa to counter the local party from the kraals, including frantically meddling with my personal security in desperation.
The UDA party and UDM competed against one another in the Garissa Township NP race.
Barrow Dekow Mohamed of the UDA party has been lawfully elected as the Garissa Township Member of the National Assembly, according to Abdi Yunis Mohamed, the returning officer for the Garissa Township Constituency by-election (MNA).
Ibrahim Malow of NARC Kenya finished third with 840 votes. 21,218 votes were cast in the by-election, or 39.84 percent of the total number of ballots cast.
Aden Duale's resignation in order to accept a ministerial position in President William Ruto's administration led to the by-election.
In a closely contested campaign where he faced off against UDM candidate Nassir Dolal, Dekow won with 11,572 votes.
Dolal received 8,158 votes, placing him in second place.
