He lost in the 2017 general election to Tom Odege. The polls conducted by Mizani Africa today has realized a 33.9% popularity inbhis favor. He is vying on an independent ticket.Tom Odege who is the incumbent comes second with 27.1%Fredrick Ogenga is third with 20.3%

Underdevelopment in Nyatike is one of the factors that has necessitated a change and probably the residents feel that the former member of parliament did a lot and might do more yet again if elected.
Edick Anyanga has been in the cold, opting to support his wife's bid in 2017. Anne Omodho Anyanga sought to be the governor in 2017 after the husband lost in the ODM nominations. She was however unsuccessful in her bid.
The race seems to be tight though and you cannot rule out the incumbent.
