More than 13 grass-roots leaders affiliated with the UDA and ANC who make up the Kenya Kwanza have left the coalition and joined Azimio One Kenya, sending shockwaves through Raila's camp this morning.
In joining the Azimio One Kenya alliance, the Elgeyo Marakwet governor Alex Tolgos reportedly led a delegation of more than 13 leaders who had previously supported Ruto's presidential campaign.
The fact that William Ruto recently held and signed a charter last night at the youth event hosted at Nyayo stadium is a big blow to his campaign for the state house with less than 41 days till the general elections.
As today's defectors are from his vote-rich region, Rift Valley, and provide his rival Raila Odinga additional votes, the aforementioned action is likely to lose him votes.
