Deputy president William Ruto will be making his first stab at the presidency on August 9 when over 20 million kenyans will be going to the ballot.
However, a number of leaders even within Kenya kwanza preferred Tharaka Nithi senator professor kithure kindiki to Gachagwa.
Now the question has been whether Rigathi is the right person that Ruto needs considering that azimio team has Martha Karua.
Political analyst Professor Herman manyora has adviced the DP to drop Gachagwa if at all he wants to salvage his dwindling fortunes.
Speaking through his YouTube Channel on Sunday, manyora said running mates play a great role during campaigns saying that in a running mate, people see a future president.
He said the only person that can match Martha Karua is professor kithure kindiki and not Rigathi Gachagwa.
"With kindiki or Karua as your future presidents, you can go and sleep soundly but not Gachagwa". He said adding that image is very important.
Manyora said it's not too late for Ruto to change his mind because the IEBC deadline wasn't a constitutional deadline but an administrative one.

He further dismissed the earlier argument that kindiki doesn't have numbers saying that the DP already has the numbers in mount Kenya on his own account.
