Today, 2 July 2022, more than 700 professionals and political leader from Elgeyo Marakwet County converged in Eldoret town where they endorsed Azimio leader Raila Odinga for the presidency, surpassing their son, Dp William Ruto who is also seeking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in August 9th General elections.
The professionals also endorsed Alex Tolgos for the senatorial seat, as he eyes to oust incumbent, Senator Kepchumba Murkumen in the race. The meeting was presided over by Dr John Kibosia who is a former CEO of the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The professionals and leaders who were present during the endorsement of Raila for presidency and Tolgos For Marakwet Senatorial seat included; Professor Margaret Kamar, who's Deputy Speaker of the Senate, CAS Linah Kilimo, and former Marakwet West MP Boaz Kaino and others.
Professor Margaret Kamar said she is not vying for any seat in the August 9th polls but would now camp in the Rift Valley region to campaign for Odinga and Tolgos.
“We want to be part of the next government and it’s now evident that the 5th President of Kenya will be Raila Odinga," Kamar said.
