Uhuru-Raila's Possible Political Gameplan Ahead Of 2022.(Opinion)

After the perceived downfall of Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) through legal hurdles,President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta and ODM party leader Raila Amolo Odinga were seen to have been defeated in their own game. The initiative was a brainchild of their handshake and was landmark in their future political undertakings.

Among the changes to the Constitution that was proposed by BBI was the expansion of the executive by creating a Prime Minister's slot together with his two Deputies'.This could have seen various political bigwigs who were pro-BBI reaping big as far as 2022 political game plan is concerned.

Among the political heavyweights who were in the pro-handshake political arithmetic included Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi of ANC,Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya, Gideon Moi of KANU,Charity Ngilu of NARC,Alfred Mutua of Maendeleo Chap Chap and Kivutha Kibwana of Muungano Party.

With the collapse of the initiative, allegations have emerged of a renewed plan by the two handshake brothers to come up with a new path towards the same direction. It has emmerged that the Constitutional Implementation and Oversight committee led by Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni is working round the clock to coin a bill that would see the Constitution ammendend through Parliament and executive expanded.

The alleged drafting of this bill has been alleged to be on course in Mombasa. The committee is proposing the creation of a Prime Minister's post with his two deputies.Futhermore,it also proposes the exapansion of the Presidency by creating another post of the Deputy President from the one that is in place currently.

President Kenyatta is keen to see Raila and the One Kenya Alliance principals striking a working and unitary deal against his now political nemesis-Deputy President William Ruto. The creation of these new posts could adequately accommodate the defiant OKA chiefs as they forge a common political course against the country's second in Command.

Deputy President William has sinced rubbished any attempt to ammend the Constitution by creating new political posts. He was also in the forefront to castigate the BBI and even celebrated it's perceived downfall.
