The Nandi senator Hon Kiprotich Arap Cherargei has send a tough message to the Meru county governor Hon Kawira Mwangaza moments after the senate was given 10 days to convene and deliberate on the governor’s impeachment motion by Meru county MCAs.
According to Cherargei, Senate has already provided a ruling before that cases in the court on impeachment cannot hinder the house of senate from handling the matter. He therefore urged Governor Kawira Mwangaza to just get ready because her shielding mechanisms will not work for her this time round. The latter insisted that impeachment is a political process and ought to be considered.
Senator Kiprotich Arap Cherargei tweeted, “Hii tufanyaje wadau naoana MCAs hawachezi na mtu! Senate has ruled before that courts cases on impeachment cannot prevent Senate from deliberating on the matter. Governor Mwangaza just prepare your defence sideshows won't help you for now! Impeachment is a political process!”
