Deputy President William Ruto and a section of the Kenya Kwanza leaders attended a church service of a holy mass at Saint Thomas The Apostle. Patron Saint of Athi Catholic Parish, Igembe South in Meru County, Reverend Kirima Ngucine led the service. Ruto was accompanied by leaders like his running mate Rigathi Gachagua, Justin Muturi, Senator Mithika Linturi, Kimani Ichung'wah and Kithure Kindiki.
During the service at Igembe leaders like Rigathi Gachagua spoke to address the congregants. He claimed that despite the fact that the late president Mwai Kibaki honoured Karua and appointed her to the Cabinet but when he got in trouble with Raila Odinga and was kicked out, Martha Karua walked out on Kibaki. He asked the audience if they can remember that. He alleged that Martha Karua showed Kibaki the middle finger and she resigned. Gachagua said that if Karua showed Kibaki the middle finger then should not also respect president Uhuru Kenyatta. His remarks has made Azimio associates react. Popular blogger Mutai has responded and wondered what Gachagua said.
