On friday all eyes will be directed to Kasarani stadium. This is because the former prime minister of Kenya hon Raila Odinga and his Azimio la Umoja team will be holding a mega rally. During this day, the ODM party will be expected to declare Mr Odinga as their presidential candidate for the 2022 general elections.
Now, today, details have leaked on what a section of Mount Kenya governors are going to do during the Kasarani Rally. As reported by the People's Daily, these governors lead by governor Lee Kinyanjui and the governor of Laikipia county hon Ndiriithu Mureithi will lead their Ubuntu and the PNU party into a pre-election coalition with ODM party. According to this publication, this will mark the beginning of the serious coalitions in the country.
"A section of Mt Kenya governors is expected to sign a pre-election deal with Raila Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement ahead of 2022 general elections. According to a reliable source, PNU party that is controlled by Mount Kenya Foundation leaders and Ubuntu led by Kinyanjui will announce a pre-election deal with Odinga during the much-anticipated Azimio la Umoja meeting slated for Friday, December 10 at Kasarani stadium." Said The People's Daily.
This Will Be a win to Raila Odinga and his ODM party on his 2022 ambitions as these governors together with their parties will help him to sell his name in the region.
