Kenya is going to the general election on August 2022. Political leaders are reorganizing so that they can be on the winning side. Some civil servants are also eying for elective seats. According to the Kenya's election Act, they are supposed to resign few months before the election.
It is believed that some cabinet Secretaries and Permanent Secretaries are planning to enter politics. There was high speculation that ICT Cabinet Secretary Honourable Joe Mucheru was eying Nyeri governortorial seat in 2022. However Mr Mucheru has said that he is not interested in contesting for the purported seat.
“I think before I proceed, let me, first of all, clarify the issue of interest...Let me assure you that we shall continue to work together and those interests are not there.” CS Mucheru said.
Mr Mucheru was speaking in Nyeri town when he officiated the launch of the Communication Authority of Kenya’s Radio Spectrum Monitoring Station .
