What Azimio leader Raila Odinga has demanded from President William Ruto

At its consultative meeting, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition made 12 important resolutions that it wants the administration of President William Ruto to address.

In particular, the demands include pressuring the government to reinstate subsidies for unga, fuel, school fees, and electricity in order to lower the price of basic necessities.

The forum, which was presided over by Raila Odinga, Martha Karua and Kalonzo Musyoka, principals of Azimio la Umoja, decided that if the administration fails to lower the price of essential goods by January 2023, Kenyans will be free to take whatever actions they see fit to lessen the burden on their shoulders.

"Ruto needs to understand that while his fortunes may have changed for the better, for a majority of parents if not all, the economic situation has become worse or remained the same," reads part of the resolutions read by National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi.
