Blow to Uhuru's Government As Martha Karua Delivers Horrible News On Public Gathering Restrictions

Former Gichugu Member of Parliament Martha Karua on Tuesday morning Attacked the president's administration and the police for purely practicing discrimination application of the new security rules meant to tame political gatherings that could be an epicenter of Chaos.

Speaking during the Daybreak program aired by the Citizen and Moderated by Sammy Gituku, the Self-proclaimed lawmaker expressed her heartfelt consolation to Uhuru's administration for openly violating the constitution, and at the same time campaigning for the amendment through the Building Bridges Initiative Referendum.

Martha Karua: We must tell the police & Uhuru administration that no Cabinet, Technical or Security Committee can amend the Constitution through declarations. Politicians do not need permission to hold meetings. They merely notify the police.

Outraged Martha Karua accused the government of practicing double standards in the application of political gathering restrictions, where the Pro-handshake supporters are always given a red-carpet treatment when it comes to the application of the new rules formed by the National Security advisory council of Kenya.

Martha Karua: There are double standards in the application of the law where police are facilitating meetings by those aligned to the President & his BBI partner while disrupting those perceived to be against BBI arrangement. This is an abuse of the law.

Finally, Martha Karua warned that Kenya is taking a worrying direction and if the trend doesn't change, there will be uproar and unrest in Kenya soon.
