Kahawa Residents Block President Uhuru Kenyatta's Entourage, Demanding Him to Address

Following his overseas tour, President Uhuru Kenyatta began his development travels today. He first presided over the ceremonial opening of Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kiambu County, which was the country's first public molecular imaging center.

Following that, the president traveled to Kahawa Barracks in Kiambu County to lead the country in commemorating Kenya Defense Forces Day this year. Senior government officials and military people attended the occasion. Eugene Wamalwa, the new military cabinet secretary, was in attendance.

President Uhuru Kenyatta's convoy was delayed on his way back to Nairobi by jubilant Kahawa west residents who demanded his address. Residents gathered in front of his motorcade, forcing him to come to a halt and address the crowd.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has been largely absent from politics. In his second term in government, he has decided to concentrate on his development projects. He has so far commissioned and launched big projects in several locations.
