"I Will Not Betray Uhuru" Powerful Mount Kenya Legislator Gives DP Another Blow With This Message

Several allies of President Kenyatta from the Mount Kenya backyard have recently moved to DP Ruto’s camp after what they claimed to be a situational analysis. Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba, Hon. Githunguri, Gabriel Kago, Nakuru East MP, David Gikaria and Samuel Gachobe of Subukia are some of those who are said to have betrayed Uhuru after they shifted allegiance to DP Ruto’s Tangatanga faction.

Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki says he will be the last politician from the Mt Kenya region to betray President Uhuru Kenyatta by decamping to the Tangatanga wing of the ruling Jubilee Party. Speaking during a church service at the Njuri Presbyterian Church of East Africa in Chuka in Igambang’ombe Constituency on this Sunday, Governor Muthomi Njuki said he will be the last politician from the Mount Kenya region to decamp Jubilee and join Tangatanga allies. He claimed that politicians must seek the support of the people and not bank on parties’ popularity for the 2022 election.

He criticized politicians from the Mount Kenya region who are joining UDA which is associated with DP William Ruto and other parties. He told them they should claim that President Kenyatta has not delivered on the development mandate. Njuki said that he will remain in Jubilee and be loyal to President Kenyatta until his tenure ends in 2022. He said that Uhuru has done great development in the country and his legacy will remain forever.

Hon. Njuki spoke a few days after some Tharaka Nithi ward representatives visited the Deputy President at his Karen office in Nairobi and were led by Woman Representative Beatrice Nkatha and Chuka MP, Hon. Patrick Munene. Ms. Nkatha told the Nation that the eight MCAs and aspirants in the 2022 General Election agreed to join UDA. Governor Njuki expressed his confidence that the political betrayal in the region will not shake the President's focus on the development agenda.
