The late Engineer Andrew Kiptoon was today laid to rest at his rural home in Baringo North Sub-county, Baringo .The former member of parliament for Baringo North passed on last week while undergoing treatment at Nakuru referral hospital.
Several leaders joined the family and local residents to pay tribute to the fallen hero whose works can still be seen to date. He is especially remembered for initiating KERRA and KENHA .These are government agencies mandated with the task of maintaining and constructing roads in Kenya to enhance transport and movement.
However, the residents couldn't hesitate to register their displeasure over the manner in which the MPs and MCAs conducted themselves during the event. These politicians allegedly turned the event into a political rally instead of mourning with the family and the extended community.
The funeral according to reports turned chaotic as UDA politicians accused KANU party of being involved in the removal of the people of Baringo from various state offices. The area women representative, Gladwell Tungo was in attendance as a representative of the KANU party and she dismissed the allegations.
