The Nairobi gubernatorial seat is expected to be a hotly contested one as elections near. The county has always been on the spotlight for its political unrest, involving various county ward representatives to county officials to the governor himself.
The then governor for Nairobi county, Mike Mbuvi Sonko was impeached on December last year due to corruption allegations. Since he had no deputy, Nairobi Metropolitan Services took over the county until early this year when Ann Kananu took over.
Various top political leaders have shown their interests for the seat during next year's general elections. One of them is a vocal political blogger, Silas Chepkeres Jakakimba. Silas has been on the headlines as being a favourable candidate for the seat. It will be his first time to be on the ballot papers and he hopes to make it happen. He has been taking to his social media accounts to lobby for his aspirations. Today, Silas took to his official Twitter account to echo his sentiments on the gubernatorial bid. His tweet read:
We've started speaking to the Vision&Mission that inform our very fierce intentions to contest for the Governorship seat in next year's elections. Our Back-end Team is putting in place mechanisms & structures to release these clips in the fulness of time.#PamojaTwaweza."
Who do you think will win Nairobi's gubernatorial elections next year? Kindly leave a comment and don't forget to follow me for more of such news.
