Orange Democratic Movement party leader Hon Raila Amolo was in the Mt Kenya region on Friday after he attended a burial of the mother to Nyeri Deputy Governor. Raila Odinga was accompanied by ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru and other Kieleweke MP Kanini Kega.
After the burial, the former Prime Minister addressed a political rally in Karatina town in Mathira Constituency as he continues to popularize himself in the Mt Kenya region. Raila asked Nyeri residents to rally behind him as he looks to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
However, it was not a smooth ride for him as he was faced with obstacles along his way. At some various stops, United Democratic Chants filled the air destructing speeches of his allies who attempted to attack DP Ruto.
According to some videos circulating on social media platforms, Kieni Member of Parliament Hon Kanini Kega was seen begging a section of the crowd to give him a minute to express himself after he attacked area MP Rigathi Gachagua.
Both Raila Odinga and William Ruto will be in Mt Kenya on Saturday, with Raila touring Murang'a County and Ruto touring Kirinyaga county. All attention will focus on them to see how they will be welcomed.
