Political analyst, Professor Peter Kagwanja, has been very vital in ensuring that he corrects Ruto's government as he continues to serve in his first term as an active president. The political analyst has recalled what happened during the reign of the late President Daniel Moi in 1978 that happened during Ruto's reign in 2022.
Through his Twitter account, Peter Kagwanja posted a video of when the late President Daniel Moi appointed Mwai Kibaki as his vice president in 1978. Kibaki is believed to have roots in Mt. Kenya region specifically in Nyeri county. The political analyst compared the event of 1978 to the incident of 2022 under the current president William Ruto.
He said as the late president Daniel Moi appointed Mwai Kibaki as his vice president in 1978, this is very similar to President William Ruto appointing Rigathi Gachagua as his deputy. Gachagua is also believed to have roots in Nyeri county in Mathira Constituency.
"DOWN MEMORY LANE: In 1978, Daniel Moi appointed Mwai Kibaki (Nyeri) as his vice president; in 2022, William Ruto would be appointed Rigathi Gachagua (Nyeri) as Deputy President." Professor Kagwanja Tweeted.
