Meru County Governor, Hon. Kiraitu Murungi has made history amongst all the forty seven counties in Kenya after becoming the first governor to launch a cooperative societies Forum limited. This forum brings together a host of cooperatives drawn from several sectors. According to Meru county Governor, his aim is to make Meru County modern in terms of industrialization and this forum will enhance achievement of this objective.



Kiraitu Murungi was accompanied by Ephantus Majau, who chaired the event. The deputy governor for Meru County, Titus Ntuchiu was also in attendance. Titus Ntuchiu is also the County top person in charge of the finance.


Kiraitu Murungi is fighting hard to retain his political seat as the governor for Meru County. His close competitors are Meru County Senator, Mithika Linturi and Meru county women representative, Kawira Mwangaza who are eyeing the seat.
