Operations in Meru Maua road have been affected after bodaboda operators have started protests demanding ksh 600,000 handed by Deputy President William Samoei Ruto, from Tigania MP Gichunge Kabeabea.
The protestors are burning tiles on the middle of the road affecting transport activities on the road. The cases of protests have risen in areas where DP William Ruto visits and hands some money to be shared. This trend is now starting to bring problems to William Ruto's campaigns.
Many Kenyans online have condemned the act of Ruto giving out money to some politicians who always goes hiding bringing chaos in his area. Many have viewed the incident of Ruto giving out money as bribery of voters and that will affect his image. Below are some of the reactions online to this incident:
@Elijah Michael
This is what happens when the ground is hostile to you and you have to control them with handouts.
@Ahmed Hussein
Ruto should stop buying loyalty and support.
