Governor Dr Mutua To Go Head-to-Head With DP Ruto's Candidate For MP Seat in Machakos

Emerging reports are saying outgoing Machakos Governor Dr Alfed Mutua is planning to compete against Deputy President William Ruto's candidate for a parliamentary seat in Machakos County.

Nation reports that Dr Mutua's documents deposited at the IEBC's offices revealed that he is going to be on the ballot paper on August 9.

The publication reports that Dr Mutua is eying the Mwala parliamentary seat, meaning he will have to compete against going head to head with Dr Ruto’s candidate, incumbent Vincent Musyoka alias Kawaya.

Others eyeing the same seat are Ms Roda Nduku who is vying on a Kanu ticket and Barckleih Kilei who is vying on a Wiper party ticket.

Dr Mutua's quest to unseat the Mwala MP is most likely going to be a source of unrest in the Kenya Kwanza coalition, considering DP Ruto is targeting to get as many lawmakers as possible.

Dr Mutua ditched Azimio One Kenya Alliance to join Kenya Kwanza and revealed that he had been made a principal in the Kenya Kwanza team, just like Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi.

It raises questions about why he decided to go for the Mwala seat yet sources revealed that DP Ruto had offered him a job.

His move is similar to that of Wetangula, whom, after being promised that he will be Senate Speaker, he is still in the race to defend his seat as the Bungoma Senator
