William Samoei Arap Ruto, the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya, has admitted that he had nothing to do with the dismissal of the significant civil suits that were pending against his associates. Rigathi Gachagua, Aisha Jumwa, and Mithika Linturi were innocent, thus there was no need to press charges against them, he was quick to point out.
Ruto was keen to point out that, contrary to what many Kenyans believed, his hand was not directly engaged in the cases being withdrawn. He continued by saying that he didn't phone Nordin Haji, a close friend of his, to prevent the prosecution from proceeding as scheduled.
President William Ruto attempted to justify and explain himself during his first interview with journalists today regarding the several things he has attempted or failed to do as well as his plans for the nation.
He attributed it, as usual, to the handshake. He claimed that those with whom he had shaken hands (Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga) had nothing to offer the nation and that their handshakes were all falsehoods. He said that individuals who consumed BBI added sugar but had no benefits.
