Law Society of Kenya president Nelson Havi has sent a crucial message to interior cabinet secretary Dr Fred Matiangi over the looming Building Bridges Initiative BBI popularization.
The pro-BBI leaders had met on Sunday and resolved to have the document be subjected into referendum the way it was rubbishing the calls for further discussion. They further agreed to soon start countrywide tours to popularize the drive.
According to the LSK president, it would be wise if the popularization of BBI is done via zoom meeting to avoid the spread of COVID-19 cases which is now fast spreading with health experts warning of second wave of the pandemic .
He further said his suggested popularization method would help avoid physical confrontations that might occur during public rallies as it has been withnessed recently during political rallies.
"Dr Fred Matiang’i should now direct the popularization of BBI through Zoom rallies to avoid continued spread of Covid-19. No muting of the audience. Let everyone participate. This even better to avoid permits and violent physical confrontations as has been the case lately. ^DoS" Havi
