UDA have no chance of winning Kiambu county top seats. The parties leading there are Tujibebe Wakenya and Chama Cha Kazi Party. This is according to the latest opinion popularity ranking by Mizani Africa group.
In the gubernatorial seat, if elections were held today, former governor William Kabogo of Tujibebe Wakenya Party would win with 35.1%. Kimani Wamatangi of UDA would come second with 23.6%.
James Nyoro of Jubilee follows at position three with 18.5%. Wainaina Wa Jungle as independent candidate is forth with 14.4%. Moses Kuria of CCK is fifth with only 5.0%. Mwende Gatabaki is last with only 0.3% while 3.1% are undecided. UDA will therefore lose in this seat which is a big blow to them.
In the senatorial position, Machel Waikenda of Chama Cha Kazi Party is the most preferred senator candidate with a ranking of 47.1%. He is followed by Jubilee party candidate George Maara who has 19.9%. Alice Wangari Gathekia of Tujibebe Wakenya Party then follows with 16.0%. John Mugwe as an independent candidate is forth with 7.0%. George Njoroge of Safina Party is last with 6.5%. Futher 2.0% are undecided while 1.5% goes to others.
UDA is absent here since their candidate Karung'o wa Thang'wa was disqualified by IEBC with reasons that he was impeached from Kiambu CEC of youth and sports affairs and is currently in High Court fighting for his name to appear in the ballot.
In the women representative seat, if elections were held today, Mercy Nungari of Tujibebe Wakenya Party would win the seat. She is leading with a percentage of 30.3%. UDA party comes second where their candidate Anne Wamuratha is second with 26.4%. Independent candidate Loise Kim is third with 20.5%. Madam Gladys Chania of Jubilee party follows with 16.4%.
The fifth is Njeri Bakari of Chama Cha Kazi with 1.2%. The last in the poll is Lydiah Njeri Ndung'u with 1.2%. Further 0.2% goes to others. UDA will therefore still lose in this seat.
