In a ruling delivered by Magistrate Thomas Nzioki, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) was allowed to introduce a fresh charge of dealing with public property against Waititu and his company. The former county boss is expected to answer a new charge of authorising payment of KSh 6 million belonging to the Kiambu County Government to Lake Naivasha Resort Ltd.

This ruling is set to be a major blow to the Waititu who announced going for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat come 2022. Waititu joins Waiguru who is also under state watch after fresh graft charges were levelled against her. Waititu charges are set to raise political tensions as he declared supporting Dp Ruto's UDA. Ruto claimed the state is frustrating his allies to get at him.
